Comprehensive Guide: How To Debug Pillow Packaging Machines

Adjustment of End Seal Knife Seat and Cutter:

Start by placing two sheets of white paper with carbon paper in between to observe the impression lines. If the lines are uniform and clear, the knife seat is correctly positioned and requires no adjustment. Otherwise, loosen (but not completely detach) the M10 screw on the knife seat and adjust the lateral adjustment screw to correct the knife seat displacement until ideal adjustment is achieved. Then, tighten the M10 screw. The adjustment of the knife seat should be done without heating. Cutter adjustment is usually done using copper shims, ensuring it cuts the film without excessive noise. If adjustments are ineffective, consider replacing the cutter. Always adjust the cutter while it's heated (around 120°C).

Adjustment of End Seal Knife Frame Height:

Depending on the height of the packaged item, adjust the end seal knife frame height so that the center of the end seal knife aligns with the center of the packaged item. The adjustment method involves loosening the four screws on the knife frame side plate and then adjusting the end seal lifting adjustment bolt (middle bolt) to set the distance between the upper and lower end seal knives and the working surface at half the height of the packaged item. After adjustment, ensure to tighten the four loosened screws before starting the machine.

Adjustment of End Seal Knife Cutting Position:

Due to varying lengths of packaged items, there's a need to adjust the synchronization relationship between the feed finger and the end seal knife. Follow these steps for adjustment:a. For packaging film with color marks:

(1) Set the cutting position of the end seal knife to align with the color mark by selecting "Parameter Setting" on the human-machine interface.

(2) Place 3-5 packaged items between the feed finger, start the machine, and stop it when the items are 100mm away from the end seal.

(3) Check if the items are between the color marks, noting any offset direction and amount.

(4) Adjust the feed finger position using the "Feed Finger Position Adjustment Handwheel" to center the items between the color marks.

(5) Repeat steps 2-4 until the items are centered between the color marks.b. 

For packaging film without color marks:

(1) Place 3-5 packaged items between the feed finger, start the machine, and stop it when the items are 100mm away from the end seal.

(2) Visually check if the end seal position is between the two items and note any offset direction and amount.

(3) Adjust the feed finger position using the "Feed Finger Position Adjustment Handwheel" to center the items between the end seals.

(4) Repeat steps 1-3 until the items are centered between the end seals.
